Context
Bleep was an AI-powered Windows app for Intel that detected and filtered toxic audio in real time during online gaming. It combined models from Intel and Spirit AI with Windows audio architecture, letting users customize toxicity filters, review transcripts, and see content analysis — all from one interface.
Contributions
In 2020, I joined a small design and research team during the Alpha phase, focusing on the user testing program — designing research, facilitating sessions, analyzing findings, and delivering insights that both the Intel and Spirit AI teams used to improve the product.
Results
Bleep debuted as a prototype at GDC 2019 and received its first public UI preview at Intel's GDC 2021 Showcase before moving into Open Beta. While Intel positioned it as a step toward giving gamers real control using hardware like the GNA (Gaussian Neural Accelerator), it faced significant criticism and ultimately didn't achieve widespread adoption.
